Grant Series No. 001 Now Open — The Reclaimed-Material Grant

The Nipa Dua Foundation is proud to open applications for its inaugural grant cycle: the Reclaimed-Material Grant, Series No. 001.

The award provides $5,000 plus studio support and a place in the gallery's next cycle to one Ghanaian or diaspora artist whose practice is rooted in repurposed material — bark, reclaimed plastic, salvaged textile, redeemed metal. We prioritise work grounded in indigenous knowledge systems and Pan-African storytelling: recycling as testimony, the human body as a tree.

The application is a question, not a proposal. We want to know what you will make, and with what reclaimed material. We want to know your relationship to the practice and the community it comes from. There is no fee to apply.

The window opens 1 September 2025 and closes 15 November 2025. The council of custodians reviews all submissions after the cycle closes; every applicant hears back at the email address they provide.

Apply through the Foundation's grant page. Artists working in reclaimed material are warmly encouraged to put themselves forward — this fund exists for you.
